Harry “Vulvasore” Lodge came agonisingly close to winning a WSOP Circuit ring when he put together a deep run in the WSOPC #14: $800 Fifty Stack at GGPoker this weekend.
A huge field of 1,849 entrants created a $1,405,240 prize pool, over 40% more than the advertised $1 million guarantee. Lodge managed to navigate his way to a fourth-place finish and scooped $75,161.
Lodge came unstuck at the hands of the eventual champion, Brazil’s Yuri Dzivielevski. The Brazilian min-raised to 1,200,000 from the cutoff before calling when Lodge three-bet all-in from the small blind for 3,384,200. Lodge showed ace-king, Dzivielevski king-queen and the latter improved to two pair by the river.
A 10th place finish in the WSOPC Series: $126 Deepstack Bounty Turbo on the same evening saw Lodge win an additional $2,064.
